A special rate block of rooms have been reserved at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 111 Hampton Woods Ln, Raleigh, NC 27607. The hotel is about 4 miles or 10 minutes from the Raulston Arboretum.
Cost is $134/nt/room + Tax for both Friday (April 10) & Saturday (April 11) Breakfast is included.

Announcing the First NCBS Poetry Contest 2026
Talk with your bluebirds - We are sure they have stories that can become original poems for you to share. Topics can be Strictly Bluebirds, Creation on the Wing, Through a Child's Eye. There is only one entry per poet.
Award categories will be Ages 5-9; 10-12, 13-15, Adults 16 to 30, Adults 31 to 50, Adults 51 to 70, Adults over 70. Each submitting poet must be an active NCBS member or have a parent member.
All entries must be submitted via email by March 5, 2026 to ncbspresidentijs@gmail.com.
Please innclude the following: poet's name, age, address, phone, email, parent's name if a child poet and Topic. Poems must be neatly written or typed, including title and author.
Poems will be judged by a panel of qualified judges using a 5 pt. rubric.
Winners will be notified by March 20 by phone and email - awards to be presented at NCBS Annual Conference 2026
